The Waiting Period

The Waiting Period

We often ask: When will it get better?
When will I reach that breaking point, that place where my heart’s desires are fulfilled?
In the midst of these questions, hope seems to fade.
The future appears hazy, worry becomes second nature, and staying focused becomes a challenge.

Then, the battle for the voices begins.
Choices feel limited, and opportunities seem to slip away unnoticed.
The nagging question of “Am I enough?” and “Will I ever make it?” grows louder.

You wake up each day, hoping for change, asking, Is today the day?
Advice pours in from all sides—good, bad, and everything in between.
Helplessness and restlessness set in.
Discouragement becomes a shadow, and confusion weighs heavy.
There are moments when you wonder: Am I still relevant?

Goals blur, and the question “Will I make it?” lingers, constant and heavy.
Each day brings new worries.
We watch the sunrise and pray, hoping something will shift before it sets.
The inner storm rages on.
Our faith is tested, friends drift away, and external pressure, both internal and societal, begins to build.

The question “Am I stagnant?” becomes a familiar thought.
Those around you start to wonder if something’s wrong, and you begin to question if they might be right.
Sometimes, it feels like nothing is working.
You toil endlessly, yet success seems out of reach.
Hiding away from others might feel like the only option.

Then comes the advice: Go out more. Meet people. Maybe they can help.”
Life feels upside down as if your expectations will never be met.
You find yourself sinking in sorrow and doubt, while fear creeps in, saying, “I’ve arrived.”
Your self-confidence crumbles and negative thoughts multiply.
Help feels distant, no matter how hard you try.

You look at others and wonder, Will I ever find happiness? Will I ever succeed?
You compare yourself to those you believe are doing better, faster, smarter, and more successful.
Why me? Becomes an overwhelming thought.
How much longer will this last? The question feels precarious, like the weight of the world on your shoulders.
The temptation to seek answers increases, but those answers only seem to bring more turmoil.

Weakness sets in, and spirits begin to break.
Frustration becomes second nature and frowns form deep lines on your face.
Physical and emotional stress take over.
You start to believe your enemies are conspiring against you.
Impatience leads to costly mistakes, and the future becomes even more uncertain.
Desperation takes root, and time seems to speed up, slipping away faster than ever.
Sometimes, you ask, Am I the cause of all this?
Distractions take hold, leaving you scattered and unfocused.

The waiting period is one of the most critical times in anyone’s life.
It feels like the longest stretch, filled with uncertainty and expectation.
However, within it, there is something to be gained if we take the time to pay attention.
It’s a chance to build our faith, hope, and determination.
To prepare for the struggles that lie ahead.
To clear out the weeds from our lives and set ourselves on a higher course.
To learn the virtue of patience.
It’s a time for reflection—looking at the good we have and recognizing what our Creator has done for us.
The waiting period renews our hope and strengthens our confidence in God.
It brings clarity, even in the darkest times, and guides us onto the right path.

Though the waiting period may feel bitter, painful, and unstable, overcoming it is the key.
Sometimes, it’s during this time that God sanctifies, purifies, and equips us for the future.
The waiting period is a call to pause—it says WAIT to examine our lives, to reflect inwardly, and to prepare for the journey ahead.

It’s a season of restoration, one where God is preparing us for something greater.
It’s a moment to stop, hold on, and focus on God.
It’s a time to tap into our inner strength, to discover new potential, and to surround ourselves with love and support.

The waiting period is also a learning experience.
In it, our true gifts are revealed—if only we’re willing to listen and humble ourselves.
It teaches us that life is a struggle, but that struggle connects us to others.
It allows us to understand the pains of others and deepen our human connections.

This waiting period could mean many things: a test of faith, a time of trials, or a season to learn or develop a new skill or virtue.
It is a merciful time, so be patient with God.
If you feel you’ve made mistakes, let this period be one of reflection, repentance, and growth.
For at the end of the dark tunnel, there is light.
Keep moving forward with faith and hope.
You are transitioning to something greater.

My peace often feels disturbed, and my worries run deep,
So, I wait, hoping for a smile.
I look around and wonder if I’m the only one curled up in a ball.
But deep down, I know that if I look up, I’ll see the sun smiling down on me if only I can hold on.

The waiting period asks one question: Are you still doubting?
It reminds us that everyone has passed through it.
Have you learned from it?
Or are you still blaming, complaining, or murmuring?
Are you still battling indecision, or has it made you more grateful?
Stand up. Keep moving.
Focus on God and focus on the positive.
